About
Founder
Watch Lab was founded by a New York–based stylist and creative director with a background in mathematics.
Her studies of numbers and systems naturally led to clocks and watches.
She became drawn to timepieces not for their timekeeping function, but for their beauty and form, seeing them as objects that could be worn and used as design material.
The Brand
Watch Lab is a fashion studio dedicated to one-of-one watch embedded garments and accessories.
The studio works in two directions.
In the Upcycled section, vintage and secondhand garments and accessories are curated first. Watches are then chosen and embedded in response to the existing piece.
In the Handmade section, the process begins with the watch. Designs are developed around the specific timepiece, allowing its color, size, weight, and form to shape the piece.
The Handmade section also functions as a collaborative platform, inviting designers working across disciplines to create one of one work within the Watch Lab framework.
Pieces are released individually through the Watch Lab online store and remain permanently archived once sold.
Alongside the shop, Watch Lab maintains a Projects space for editorial work, visual experiments, and ongoing ideas.
Sustainability
Watch Lab works with secondhand watches, repurposing timepieces that might otherwise remain forgotten. By embedding them into garments and accessories, the studio extends the life of existing objects. Producing only one of one pieces further limits waste and avoids overproduction.
