About
Founder
Watch Lab was founded by a New York–based stylist and creative director with a background in mathematics.
Her studies of numbers and systems naturally led to clocks and watches.
She became drawn to timepieces not for their timekeeping function, but for their beauty and form, seeing them as objects that could be worn and used as design material.
The Brand
Watch Lab is a fashion studio dedicated to one-of-one watch embedded garments and accessories.
The studio works in two directions.
Special Edition
Every piece in the Special Edition section is either handmade or upcycled. Upcycled pieces start with an existing garment or accessory: the piece is sourced first, and a watch is then chosen and embedded to complement it. Handmade pieces work in reverse — the process starts with the watch itself, and the design is built around its color, size, weight, and form. This section also functions as a collaborative platform, inviting designers across disciplines to create one-of-one pieces within the Watch Lab framework.
Pieces are released individually through the Watch Lab online store and remain permanently archived once sold.
Made to Order
The Made to Order section is a monthly handmade release built around a single core garment silhouette. Each release pairs it with a curated archive of one-of-one secondhand watch heads — customers choose their watch head, garment color, and size, and the piece is made to order, specifically for them.
Sustainability
Watch Lab works with secondhand watches, repurposing timepieces that might otherwise remain forgotten. By embedding them into garments and accessories, the studio extends the life of existing objects. Producing only one of one pieces further limits waste and avoids overproduction.
